Prof. Dr. Martin Sillem
Martin Sillem attended medical school in Mainz, Freiburg, and London. He completed his training in obstetrics and gynaecology in Goettingen, Aschaffenburg and Heidelberg, where he also obtained a Ph.D.. In 1993/4 he was a research fellow at The Jones Institute of Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk/Virginia (USA), sponsored by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.
Upon his return to Germany, he completed clinical fellowships in gynae oncology and in gynae endocrinology/reproductive medicine. Consecutively, he served as head of department in two district general hospitals.
Presently, he works as a partner in a group practice in Mannheim and serves as a consultant gynaecologist at Saarland University Medical Centre, where he also holds a position as associate professor.
Prof. Sillem‘s clinical and scientific work focuses on endometriosis, benign gynaecology, minimal invasive surgery. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Scientific Endometriosis Foundation and CEO at EuroEndoCert GmbH, a company that certifies endometriosis centres on behalf of the Scientific Endometriosis Society and the European Endometriosis League.
